Estos son, la apertura que es el di\u00e1metro del lente o espejo principal, y el largo focal, que es el largo total del eje \u00f3ptico. En este art\u00edculo nos centraremos en el largo focal, sus claves y c\u00f3mo entenderlo a cabalidad.<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"Largo_focal_-no_siempre_es_el_largo-\"  class=\"wp-block-ultimate-post-heading ultp-block-8f60e9\"><div class=\"ultp-block-wrapper\"><div class=\"ultp-heading-wrap ultp-heading-style9 ultp-heading-left\"><h2 class=\"ultp-heading-inner\"><span>Largo focal, -no siempre es el largo-.<\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Lo m\u00e1s importante es primero saber que el largo focal no necesariamente coincide con el largo del telescopio, de hecho, por regla general NO ES EL LARGO del telescopio. Basta con medir el largo del tubo del telescopio desde la posici\u00f3n del lente principal hasta donde se encuentra el ocular.<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"Largo_focal_en_telescopios_reflectores_tipo_newtoniano\"  class=\"wp-block-ultimate-post-heading ultp-block-f7513c\"><div class=\"ultp-block-wrapper\"><div class=\"ultp-heading-wrap ultp-heading-style9 ultp-heading-left\"><h2 class=\"ultp-heading-inner\"><span>Largo focal en telescopios reflectores (tipo newtoniano).<\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"wp-block-ultimate-post-image ultp-block-d8a3e3\"><div class=\"ultp-block-wrapper\"><figure class=\"ultp-image-block-wrapper\"><div class=\"ultp-image-block ultp-image-block-none\"><img decoding=\"async\"  class=\"ultp-image\"  alt=\"telescopio newtoniano\"  src=\"https:\/\/blog.maxscope.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/imagen_2025-10-02_205441171.png\" \/><\/div><\/figure><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Este es un caso un poco m\u00e1s complejo, recordar que a diferencia de los telescopios refractores, los rayos de luz en los telescopios newtonianos entra por la abertura delantera, rebota en el espejo principal en la parte trasera y luego rebota en el espejo secundario en la parte delantera hasta llegar al ocular. En este caso se debe medir el largo entre el espejo primario y secundario, luego se le debe sumar la distancia entre el espejo secundario y el ocular. Como tip extra, para medir la distancia desde el espejo secundario al ocular, introducir una regla con cuidado por la abertura del enfocador hasta el centro del espejo secundario, deber\u00e1s medir hasta la posici\u00f3n ficticia donde va el ocular.<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"Largo_focal_en_telescopios_catadiptricos_Schmidt-Cassegrain_Gregorian_Ritchey-Chretien_etc\"  class=\"wp-block-ultimate-post-heading ultp-block-c3e31b\"><div class=\"ultp-block-wrapper\"><div class=\"ultp-heading-wrap ultp-heading-style9 ultp-heading-left\"><h2 class=\"ultp-heading-inner\"><span>Largo focal en telescopios catadi\u00f3ptricos (Schmidt-Cassegrain, Gregorian, Ritchey-Chretien, etc.)<\/span><\/h2><\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div  class=\"wp-block-ultimate-post-image ultp-block-97485b\"><div class=\"ultp-block-wrapper\"><figure class=\"ultp-image-block-wrapper\"><div class=\"ultp-image-block ultp-image-block-none\"><img decoding=\"async\"  class=\"ultp-image\"  alt=\"catadrioptico\"  src=\"https:\/\/blog.maxscope.cl\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/10\/imagen_2025-10-02_210931643.png\" \/><\/div><\/figure><\/div><\/div>\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Es claro que, a diferencia de los otros dos ejemplos, el recorrido que hacen los rayos en telescopios catadri\u00f3pticos es bastante m\u00e1s complejo, de hecho, muchas personas se sorprenden al darse cuenta que el largo focal de su telescopio es mucho m\u00e1s del doble del largo del tubo. Sin embargo, esto se explica por la \u00f3ptica geom\u00e9trica y el dise\u00f1o instr\u00edseco de estos telescopios. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Desde el espejo primario al espejo secundario es medible y se comporta igual que en el caso newtoniano, sin embargo, el espejo secundario de los telescopios catadri\u00f3pticos no es plano, es CURVO, esto significa que introduce un \u00abzoom\u00bb que alarga de forma artificial el largo focal.
